Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions
Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement and function through exercise, manual therapy, and other physical interventions. It's particularly effective for rehabilitation after injury, surgery, or for managing chronic conditions.
Osteopathy is a holistic approach that uses manual techniques to address the body's structure and function. It focuses on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, and circulation work together, treating the body as an integrated whole.
Hugues often combines both approaches based on your specific needs and condition.

Your First Visit
Your initial appointment is a comprehensive session designed to understand your condition and begin your treatment journey:
- In-depth consultation – Hugues will ask detailed questions about your medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and goals
- Thorough assessment – Physical examination to identify the root cause of your condition
- Treatment initiation – Based on the findings, treatment begins during this first session
- Treatment plan outline – You'll receive guidance on the recommended approach going forward
Please bring the following to your first appointment:
- Any relevant medical reports, X-rays, or MRI results
- List of current medications
- Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
- Questions or concerns you'd like to discuss
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. Depending on your treatment area, you may be asked to partially undress, so wearing appropriate undergarments is recommended. Gowns are available if needed. Athletic wear or casual clothing works well for most treatments.
Treatment should not be painful. Some techniques may cause mild discomfort, especially when working on tight or injured areas, but this is always kept within your tolerance level. Hugues will communicate with you throughout the session to ensure you're comfortable. You should feel relief and improvement after treatment, not increased pain.
